Italy is very provincial for many things, but cosmic when it comes to others, like design and food. At the hair salon, you’ll find Abitare or Domus. And food is another essential element in the upbringing of any Italian person. We’re spoiled brats. We grow up with an education of high standards. Those things are just always a part of our life. They are no big deal. Good design and good food are normal. Good Parmigiano is not something you had to go to some fancy supermarket on pilgrimage and pay an insane amount of money for. If you are cooking at 7 o’clock and need Parmigiano, you run downstairs and get some - if you can eat cheese!
